But, Asher’s job at Universal Studios led him to ^Hollywood in 1948. He was the producer and director of “Leather Gloves,” a low-budget boxing melodrama with Cameron Mitchell and Richard Quine. Afterward, Asher moved into television as a writer and director. During his career, he directed many of the series’ episodes.

Asher’s career spans numerous industries and he has struck gold more than 30 times.In one interview, a reporter Bill Asher remarked that his career “is every little boy’s dream.” He has created a successful empire, from nightclubs to television shows to gambling venues to real estate venues. His diverse interests and skills make his company one of the most successful in the entertainment industry. But his success can’t be attributed to his personal success.

During his TV career, Asher directed and produced over two dozen shows. He co-wrote the teleplay for Sisters at Heart with Barbara Avedon, and made an uncredited cameo in “Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall.” In addition to his TV shows, Asher wrote the screenplay for two episodes of the Tabitha series. His wife Elizabeth Montgomery was the star of two of the shows.

Bill Asher is a master guitar craftsman and has worked on instruments by some of the most famous artists in the world. He has worked with the slide superstar Ben Harper and many other legendary steelers. But, despite the many accolades he’s received, he remains humble. Asher has a long list of loyal clients that includes Jackson Browne, Ben Harper, and Paul Simon.
